Seasonal Scent of November: Northlands

This complex scent calls to mind a trek through a snow-dusted forest, with notes of fresh evergreen, rich cinnamon, and aromatic absinthe.

This month's complimentary preview tealight is December's Reading Room.

November Rituals

"Starting the "my" part of my day - I know I wrote that I light a candle at the start of my work day, but I actually usually light it after doing the morning chores/tasks, but a few minutes before I'm ready to start work - when I can enjoy the start of my coffee, maybe read a chapter of a book, and plan the possibilities of the day (before work derails some of them...)."

What's Included

Find warmth in the depth of winter with our current Seasonal member shipment containing a Northlands candle, a tealight preview of next month's Seasonal Scent (Reading Room), a limited-edition coaster, and a letter from the Keap Team.

Candle Burning Tips

Following your first burn, each time you use your candle, trim the wick to 3⁄8" (about the width of your pinky finger) before you light it. This helps ensure a smaller, safer flame and less soot.

Each time you burn your candle, burn it for 2-3 hours. This will not only maximize the fragrance throw, but also help avoid "tunneling," where the candle burns down the middle, leaving wax around the edges.

For safety reasons:

▶ Don't burn your candle when less than a 1/2" of wax remains.
▶ Never leave a burning candle unattended!

A Note on Matches

Longtime subscribers will know that we've experimented with a variety of matchbox (and even matchbook!) styles over the years, and we historically included matches in every subscriber shipment.

In early 2024, we made the switch to a beautiful Jumbo Matchbox containing extra sturdy long matches. With this change in format, we also implemented a change in the frequency we send them.

We now include a Jumbo Matchbox in every 12th subscription order. You can read more about the reasons behind the change here.

Need more matches sooner? Learn how to add matches to your next order through the subscriber portal here.

Reuse Inspiration

Candleholders are a breeze to repurpose when you know how! We've put together this quick and easy guide to give any candle glass a second life.

Explore our Tumbler Reuse Series to see the creative ways our awesome community of Keapers have been enjoying their glasses after their candles are long gone!

Or fill up your cup with a cocktail from our 2022 recipe series, designed by writer, historian, and cocktail creative Al Culliton.

Tealight Burning Tips

The tealights are indicative of what our full candles smell like, but our full candles are much more powerful. To appreciate each scent, burn the tealight nearby or in a small room—bathrooms are a great place to test.

Not feeling next month's scent? You can always swap to Wood Cabin, Wild Figs or Timur Moon. Make the change directly in your account -or- email us at TheLab@KeapCandles.com, and we'll make the change for you.

Some safety tips for your tealights:

▶ Don't leave lit candles (even tealights!) burning unattended.
▶ Burn on a flat surface.
▶ Be careful as the tins can get hot!
