Whether you are looking for a gift for a mother figure this Mother's Day, or in the market for gifts for someone else this spring, let me throw a few simple recommendations your way.
1. Take them out to a nice local restaurant
You might try Nudibranch in Brooklyn, Borgo if you're in Manhattan, or perhaps Chleo here in Kingston.
2. Buy them a book at your local bookstore or from Bookshop.org
Has anyone else read and loved You Dreamed of Empires? If your mom loves history with a little rough edge, I recommend it.
3. Get them a very special bar of soap from Saipua
Sarah has been creating an extraordinary and difficult project. It has a lot in common with how I see Keap as a laboratory for implementing new (and old) ways of organizing commerce, people, and land. We've bonded over our tendency to get too brainy for our own good. I love her Rose Geranium soap, which I find particularly impressive since I'm not a geranium person. Sarah also has a thought-provoking newsletter that I follow closely.
4. Get them a gift subscription so they can enjoy our new scent, Terraces.
Or if you live in the same town as them, get a Keap 2-pack subscription to share and get together when you receive the shipment. We've had a few Keapers share with us beautiful stories of practicing this monthly ritual with moms or friends. Or if you'd rather not subscribe to something, you can always play it safe with a Wild Figs candle.

Wait a minute...
Yes, we just launched a new scent!
It is only our 13th scent launched in 10 years. It's called Terraces, it's Keap's second all-natural, 100% plant-based, 100% bio-degradable fragrance. Have a sniff!
This is how our longtime subscriber Helen described it, before knowing its composition:
"To me, it feels like a warm summer evening stroll through a garden. It feels like the heat is intensifying the lovely fragrance of the vegetation!"
Terraces is available now for subscribers (join here - change scents, skip, cancel anytime), and we'll have some for sale to non-subscribers June 1.
Let me know what you think when you get it!
With warmth,
— Harry from Keap, Steward-Owner
